LIVE THE SONG – MUST I?

Song of Songs 5:2-3

She

I slept but my heart was awake.
    Listen! My beloved is knocking:
“Open to me, my sister, my darling,
    my dove, my flawless one.
My head is drenched with dew,
my hair with the dampness of the night.”
I have taken off my robe—
must I put it on again?
I have washed my feet—
    must I soil them again?

REALLY??? Are you kidding me? It’s the middle of the night. I’m tired. I was just falling asleep.

This is going to ruin me for tomorrow, I will be so wiped out in the morning. I’ll be cranky and ugly and nasty if I don’t get some sleep. How can you even think of such a thing? You are so inconsiderate. You think I am going to hop up at a moments notice  just because you happen to be in the mood.

You are messing with my plans. I have a big meeting tomorrow I need to focus and I need to get my rest. Don’t you see that I have a lot on my plate? Stop distracting me. Stop making me feel guilty…I just need to take care of this, don’t get in the way.

PAUSE – RERUN – RETHINK

Huh? Hmm…. What is that???? That smell, I know that smell…Oh it’s nice…

Hmm…That voice, it makes me feel like home, warm and …. it makes me feel safe…

Hmm…just give me a second… I gotta wake up…  an get the door…

Crawl in here, snuggle up close. No, even closer…

What are you doing? Hmm, that feels so good….

Can you imagine being able to let go of your concerns, worries and plans so that when love came knocking at your door you could  go for a ride together?

I have this amazing friend and mentor Tiffany,  and she always talks about how important it is that we are interruptable. If God is going to work through us, then we have to be able to instantly drop our own plans and do what God prompts us to do. If we are stuck to our schedules and routines then we will miss out on so many opportunities. When we constantly control everything in our life, then there is no room for God to work.

Are you interruptable? Are you interruptable  in your relationship with God? Are you interruptable in your marriage?

This Week –

1. Pray that you would be interruptable. Watch for opportunities when God is speaking to you and simply do what He says and be amazed at how He works.

2. If you have  not been interruptable in your marriage bed, pray about what you need to let go of. Take ownership  and repent to your husband. Make a choice to be interruptable and to discover the hidden treasures of letting go of control.

3. Initiate sex in the middle of the night with your husband so that when he wakes he is not sure whether it is a dream or it is real.
